about

Washington, D.C. – Black Techno Matters releases their 15th digital EP, Lens Shift by DC-area techno & electro producer, MerlinBerlin. The new rising star is already making noise in a sophisticated way, coming onto the scene with numerous 5-star releases under her belt. Frequently inspired by the mysteries of the universe and astronomy, Lens Shift sees MerlinBerlin drawing from the uncertainty of space. Leaning on syncopated rhythms and her signature swirling sonic textures, this carefully curated EP merges both light and dark energy to create a hypnotic balance of robotic noises, cavernous chords, and classic techno sounds such as in the eerie electro of “The Rim” or in the anthemic closing track “Zeta Ring”. The Lens Shift EP will be released during International Women's Month and will be available on all streaming platforms and can be purchased through Bandcamp.
